TEACHER - Responsible for planning and developing a comprehensive lesson plan which reflects the revised Head Start Performance Standards coordinating in-service training with education supervisor; monitor all activities to insure environmental safety and a positive learning experience for preschool children. Promote active participation for parents to serve as classroom volunteers; responsible for accurate and legible record keeping in relation to the children in the classrooms and classroom or center level in-kind donations. Responsible for at least three home visits on assigned children; attending workshops, training sessions, college classes and other formal educational opportunities in order to upgrade job skills and improve daily performance. Supervise evaluation of teacher assistants. Qualifications: High School diploma/GED, prefer A.S/B.A in Elementary Education; three years experience working with pre-school children in a classroom setting, a CDA; and Department of Children & Families 10 & 30 hours. Must have professional appearance, pleasant personality and have access to reliable transportation.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - Responsible for variety of administrative/clerical duties including: inputting and maintaining MIS data bank; preparing client files; proficient in MS Office and good communication skills. Some knowledge of rules & regulations governing non-profit/government programs a plus. Requires Associates degree (computer related studies preferred), or H.S. diploma/GED with 3yrs. experience in office administration.
FAMILY DEVELOPMENT LIAISON - Job duties will be to partner with Head Start Families offering opportunities to identify, initiate & accomplish goals, from time of recruitment through transition out of the program. Requires: B.S./B.A. in Social Service/Science; two years experience and familiarity with community resources for the economically disadvantaged; case management theory & application knowledge; crisis intervention & emergency needs practices including appropriate referral agencies; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks & clients; must be computer literate - COPA preferred. Access to reliable transportation required.
FOOD SERVICE FACILITY AIDE – Main function will be to prepare & serve food to children meeting USDA guidelines for meal components, serving size, time & help in custodial care of Head Start Centers. Local, state & federal sanitation codes must be followed. Requires: H.S. Diploma/GED; knowledge of food preparation methods, food safety, sanitation and customer service; must be able to perform mathematical calculations that involve fractions; able to lift 50 lbs; have food handlers card and access to reliable transportation.
FOOD SERVICE VAN DRIVER/WORKER – Responsible for transporting food from central Head Start kitchens to Head Start centers as assigned. Duties will consist of a split day with 4-6 hours as a driver and 2-4 hours doing food service worker duties. Requires H.S. Diploma/GED with two years vehicle operation experience and a valid Florida Driver License with a clear motor vehicle record.
MAINTENANCE WORKER - Provide routine maintenance and custodial activities. Must be skilled in: carpentry; plumbing; painting; building/ground maintenance and electrical work not requiring certification. Requires High School Diploma or GED, with five years experience in maintenance construction, repairs and woodwork. Must have access to reliable transportation. Drivers License must be cleared through motor vehicle records.
RECEPTIONIST – Responsible for greeting and directing visitors to destination. Answer PBX telephone console and direct calls to appropriate department or individual. Performs variety of clerical duties including typing memos, correspondence, reports and other documents. Must be able to read and comprehend basic instructions, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to JUL clients and/or employees. Ability to add and subtract, write general correspondence. Requirements: H.S. Diploma/GED with one year clerical certificate from college/technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
TEACHER ASSISTANT - Assist in preparation of lesson plans and outlines; in preparing and developing various teaching aids. Assist in presenting subject matters to children ages 3-5 utilizing a variety of methods and techniques. Monitor bus transportation. Requires: H.S. Diploma/GED; two years experience working with pre-school children in classroom setting; Department of Children & Families 10 & 30 hours; CDA preferred; should be interested in professional and personal growth along with career development; food handler’s card. Must have professional appearance, pleasant personality and have access to reliable transportation.
TEACHER ASSISTANT – EXTENDED DAY – Assist in preparation of lesson plans, monitor bus transportation. Requires: H.S. Diploma/GED; exp. working with pre-schoolers in classroom setting; DCF 10 & 30 hours; & CDA preferred; should be interested in professional and personal growth along with career development. Must have professional appearance, pleasant personality and have access to reliable transportation. Hours: 1:30-7:30p.m. M-F.
CLASSROOM SUBSTITUTES – Needed for Pool. Requires H.S. Diploma/GED with experience working with pre-school children in a classroom setting preferred. Need food handler’s card and access to reliable transportation.
