Empowerment Opportunity

The Jacksonville Urban League has been working to empower and transform African-American communities since our founding in 1947. Fundamental to our success has been volunteer involvement. Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Urban League movement, expanding our reach into our nation's rural, urban and suburban communities.

I AM EMPOWERED

I am EMPOWERED calls for us all to pledge our time, talent and treasure to partner for a better America.
Take the "I AM EMPOWERED" Pledge

About Us:

The vision of the Jacksonville Urban League Young Professionals (JULYP) is to create an environmnet for effective training of young leaders through professional development, personal growth and community volunteerism while concurrently promoting the vision of the Jacksonville Urban League (JUL) and the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP).

We accomplish this by supporting the JUL locally and engaging young professionals in the JUL’s movement towards the achievement of social and economic equality. JULYP works to strengthen our members by encouraging them to achieve balance in their lives as they work to strengthen their communities.  We strive to assist the JUL in being recognized as the most respected service provider that fosters pathways to Education, Employment and Economic Empowerment.

The mission of this organization, based on the strategic imperatives of the Jacksonville Urban League, is simple – to provide empowerment in a 3E strategic approach:
